What is Heart & Hands of East Texas? 

We are a Christian Job Corps (CJC) Site, recognized at the state and national levels as a Job Readiness School.  We specialize in helping students identify their next steps and the pathways that lead to success.  We empower students to build confidence, set meaningful life goals and discover hope.  Essential job training, Bible study, and personal mentoring form the foundation for what we do—bringing immeasurable value to each individual, their families, and our community.

History

CJC is a nationwide organization established in 1994 by the Women’s Missionary Union to support women living in poverty. The program later expanded to include men as well.  Heart & Hands of East Texas began as Christian Women's Job Corps (CWJC) Lindale, a satellite of CWJC Tyler, and became a certified site in 2016. In 2021 we changed our name to Heart & Hands of East Texas to better communicate who and where we serve.

What We Offer

Our 10-week program, taught by retired educators and local business professionals, offers hands-on experiences, learning and skills development to confidently compete in the present job market.
